Ric was... happy. Being able to sleep with Hayley -and really just sleep, god knew the sex wasn't lacking- even with Damon acting as a guard dog, had been good for him. No new bodies turning up, not missing chunks of time, those were pretty good, too. They weren't quite enough for him to let his guard completely down, but he didn't think there was going to be a whole lot of sleeping going on tonight, anyway.

And if there was, well, tonight Hayley would be even more equipped to play guard dog and take care of him. Elijah's reassurance helped keep that one metaphorical and mildly amusing.

He dumped the last load of camping gear onto the ground, and looked up at the sky to check the weather. "I don't think we're going to have to worry about being rained on tonight, but we should probably set up the tent." Who knew what tomorrow would bring,and it would be easier to relax somewhere enclosed. And limit bugs.

"I am a little irresistible," Damon agreed.

"You are?" Hayley asked, highly doubtful.

"You just said I was hot not fifteen minutes ago!" Damon gave her an aggrieved look.

"Yeah, well. So's Tom Cruise in Rock of Ages, but I'm not hooking up with him, either."

"...in all fairness, Tom Cruise is nuts. Damon's... usually sane?" Not that he wanted to encourage any hooking up going on, but! It needed said.

Hayley stuck her tongue out at him. "I was trying to make a point, and 'I would never hook up with Brad Pitt' was not something I could say with a straight face."

Not that she would cheat on Ric with anyone, even Brad Pitt, but. The point being that Damon was resistible. Or, at least, not on her fantasy list.

That made Ric laugh, mostly with delight. "If you ever get a chance to hook up with Brad Pitt, I want stories." He was now considering, appropriately or not, which celebrities he actually would sleep with.

And coming up weirdly short.

She grinned a bit. "Does that mean I get a pass should the opportunity for a threesome with him and Angelina arise?"

Damon snorted. "I think the pope gets a pass if an opportunity for a threesome with him and Angelina arises."

"You can all have my pass. Maybe it'll improve your odds." He wrinkled his nose, just a little. "Angelina is not my idea of hot."

Hayley and Damon both stared at him like he might've lost his mind.

"Uh...what?" Damon asked, still staring.

Ric held one hand out in a sort of truncated shrug, lifted his eyebrows a touch and smiled a bit. "Sorry. She's just not."

"What's your idea of hot?" Hayley asked, a little warily. Granted, she knew she was not really Angelina-type. Not really Jennifer, either, she supposed. Between the two...well. Probably more Angelina with the rebel edge and more...obscurely dark past she wasn't all that adjusted to.

He gave her the slightest bit of a disbelieving look. "You." Because, honestly, was there any other answer anyone sane would give? Ever?

He got a slightly narrow look from her on that one, because--gratifying as it was, it didn't really answer what was wrong with Angelina.

Damon snorted, amused. "At least the headache isn't making you say things you'll regret..."

Ric grinned at Damon and inclined his head in acknowledgement, but did answer a bit more clearly. "I don't know what it is, exactly. She just doesn't appeal to me. I can't actually think of a celebrity that does." Which was absolutely truthful. He really, really couldn't.

"Huh." Hayley processed that, then gave him a quizzical look. "Did you have any that did when you were growing up?"

He tries to think back, head tilted and a mildly thoughtful frown on his face. "Clare Danes?" he offers, somewhat hesitantly. "Go back far enough and you might hit Mary Poppins."

"Well, Julie Andrews was hot-ish," Damon allowed.

Hayley considered, then just shook her head. "Okay... "

"Who were your childhood celebrity crushes?" Damon asked her.

"Uh...Johnny Depp liberally graced my walls."

"No teen dreams?"

Hayley shook her head. "Nope."

"Mary-Poppins," Ric repeated. "Not Julie Andrews. The character, not the actress. We're talking really young kid crush here. Like I want to hang around, pull your pig-tails and maybe hold your hand. Sex and hot were not on the radar."

The rest of the exchange made him tilt his head a little. "There's a type there for you. What am I doing here?" He was teasing though, but there was not a whole lot of Jonny Depp and Anglina Jolie in him. If, you know, any. Which was unlikely.

Damon tried not to crack up.

Hayley, though, gave Ric a bright, if teasing, smile. "I grew up."

Ric arched his eyebrows at her a little. "Oh, you've grown up, all right...." She was hot. He was relaxing about the age thing. Hayley was a lot of things, but immature didn't figure in. "And you," he said to Damon, "can give it up already." It up being the trying. It was okay to laugh at him, at least about this.

Hayley flashed him a smirk and stretched out a bit in the chair, long legs more properly on display. "I'm glad we agree on that." Because it would suck if he was hung up on the age thing.

Damon did as he was told and cracked up.

Damon laughing was always good, and made Ric smile a little, though he definitely eyed Hayley's legs when she stretched them out. "We'd have a lot less fun if we didn't...." Planning and schedules or not.

Hayley grinned at him. "That's certainly true."

Damon tsked. "Could we not get in to the age difference thing?"

What with his impending date with Elijah.

Ric frowned a bit at Damon, and lifted his eyebrows. "Not used to being the young and relative inexperienced one?"

"I'll go with young--but take back the inexperienced bit!" Damon protested.

"Sweetheart," Ric drawled. "This is Elijah. He's been around long enough to have invented sex acts you haven't even dreamed about."

Hayley nodded. "My advice? Enjoy and learn..."

Damon gave them both an aggrieved look. "Remind me why I brought you two coffee and donuts?"
