Elijah had, in fact, not received flowers in...maybe ever, not just the last century. His doing so now had all of his siblings questioning and Klaus a bit mocking, but Elijah had palmed the card into his jacket before anyone saw it and he shrugged a little, told them they were just all jealous they didn't have a secret admirer and taken the bouquet to his room.
It was utterly ridiculous, but he found himself smiling at the ridiculousness of it. Ric totally could have just called, but...Elijah found himself glad he hadn't. There was something sweet under the whimsy in the gesture and reassuring, too.
He hadn't been sure what to do, honestly. It wasn't like he was easy to say no to, he knew, and while he had no doubt Ric was capable of it, he also didn't want to press if his attentions were unwanted and he found himself uncertain how to actually make sure they still were, after the warmth and afterglow had disappeared.
He was still smiling when he presented himself at Ric's, as requested. He'd gone so far as to lose the tie, leaving the top button of his shirt unbuttoned, even, though he still had his jacket on as he knocked.
