Elijah
It was probably the silliest, weirdest, and possibly most inappropriate thing Ric had ever done, and he'd done some pretty silly, weird, and outright stupid things in his life. A lot of them, granted, with the help of alcohol. This one might just take the cake.
But after sleeping with Elijah (metaphorically and literally), he found himself getting steadily less certain about just what the hell he was supposed to do, now. He'd had sex with people, but never a vampire, never a man, and certainly never an Original Vampire. Did he want it to continue? Yes, he did. Was it appropriate so soon after Jenna died? Probably not. Was it more necessary because of that? Probably.
Even if the sex didn't continue -and really, Ric would be fine with that- he wanted the friendship to. Which meant figuring out a way to communicate that to Elijah. Everything he could think of just didn't seem to fit, or he second guessed until he'd talked himself out of it. Second guessing wasn't really in his nature, though, so he eventually bit the metaphorical bullet.
He sent Elijah a colorful bouquet of flowers that the internet told him meant nobility, and signed the card with a request for his presence. It was silly. He could have called. Old fashioned seemed to fit Elijah, though, and well. If he'd gotten flowers in the last century, Ric might eat them.

Elijah smirked a tiny bit, though his eyes agreed. He wasn't sure what to say for a moment, so he leaned in to brush a kiss over Ric's lips lightly.
"Maybe one or two."

Elijah's look was amused at what was almost babbling. "What are you counting?"

"Why thought better?" Elijah asked, voice still soft and intimate, not necessary since they were alone, but...somehow wrapping something around them.
"I certainly thought we did that right..."

"So long as it isn't the only thing you think we've done right, I think it's okay to emphasize it now and again," Elijah said with an almost teasing smile.

"It isn't," he assured Elijah. "Feeling weird about emphasizing it occasionally.... I seem to be getting over." And he was. He was getting over a lot. Still awkward and not quite sure where the lines were, or what the rules were, but he was figuring it out as he got to know Elijah. It was... a guy thing, actually. It was an Elijah thing. Enigmatic left him guessing and...
He kind of liked that, actually.

He'd probably figure out Elijah had few lines in conversation (it was impossible to draw them with Kol or Klaus, so he'd given up), and, while there were preferences for politeness in most things...teasing or honesty were probably never going to offend him. Surprise the fuck out of him, sure, but not offend.
"Good," he said with a smile before reaching for his drink again.

Then he pulled back slowly. "Not telling your siblings... does that mean I shouldn't say anything to anyone?"

If Elijah was surprised by the kiss, he didn't show it by any outward sign. Instead, he let Ric stop his reach for the drink and leaned into him, returning the kiss softly and deeply, tongue sliding over Ric's almost teasingly until the other man pulled back.
He gave him a small smile at the question. "You can tell anyone you want to. It's not that I mind them knowing. It's just....a lot of fun to not tell them, knowing they're trying to figure it out." It pissed Klaus off when Elijah kept secrets. Elijah was...currently okay with that.

"Probably not," he agreed. None if them were likely to have a civil conversation with him, either, honestly. "And it's not a big deal if they do."
It was just petty fun, keeping it from them.
