If Damon started biting Ric's scalp, Ric was going to have something to say about it. And maybe make odd faces, because a mouthful of bloody hair didn't sound at all appealing to him. He put his fingers under Damon's chin and lightly returned the kiss, before carefully pushing him back up to stand. He was exhausted, now that he was relaxed, ready to curl up with Damon, but still worried about Elena.
