Rebekah wasn't really surprised by the question though she took a moment to consider how to answer. She could have told him she felt bad about what she had done but she was still unapologetic about the steps she had taken to protect herself and her family.
Ric blinked a couple of times, in confusion so obvious it was comical. "All the people in this town, your family, and you find... the history teacher interesting."
He grinned, a little, but it was sympathetic, too. "I missed the last... Nine hundred and seventy?" He was still being very gentle. He leaned into her, again. "Have you caught up, yet?"
"That's a shame, I think you would have liked some of it." She shifted, leaning into him as well though she was keeping her hand still over his. "I'm working on it but I still don't understand some of the references. People keep talking about Twilight or Star Wars...all these movies I haven't seen."
"Friday, then? And... wear jeans or something casual." He didn't want it to sound like they were going anywhere... expensive or impressive. He wasn't sure how she'd feel about that, but she seemed to find the idea appealing.
The corners of her mouth twitched a bit at that. "How about a skirt? Can I wear a casual looking skirt?" Since she had caught him checking out her legs once or twice.
He was very, very tempted to do more than smile at her, but it seemed like
his basic... whatever the hell it was that made him move slowly was still
very much in place. Also, he was kind of scared since stroking his
wrist had overwhelmed him. So, he kept the smile. "I'll... pick you up
at 6?"
As tempted as she was, Rebekah would wait for him to make the first move because of how easy it was to overwhelm him. That and she had experienced far too much rejection lately to really rush this time.
"I will be ready." She promised, returning the smile.
