That Elijah kissed back surprised Ric a little, and gentled him down from the aggressive, if awkward, and fearful kiss. He turned it a little softer and more affectionate, then eased back and slowly released Elijah's tie.

"Does that count as pressing?"

Elijah was still a little stunned Ric had actually done it, but he was smiling when he eased back, letting his hand slide from the back of the man's neck gently, easily.

"I think it most certainly does. "

"Good." He smiled, a bit. "I didn't have a back-up plan."

Or any idea what a back-up plan for pressing that kind of advantage would look like. "Refill?"

He couldn't believe he'd actually done it, either.

Elijah held out his glass and nodded, still a little stunned, but in a pleased sort of way. "Please."

Ric pushed up to grab the bottle, and poured them both another drink. He put the bottle back and held his glass up, with a bemused smile. "To pleasant surprises." Which was acknowledgement of having surprised Elijah.

Elijah considered that, then clinked his glass against Ric's. "I'll drink to that--to pleasant surprises."

Really, most of this day had been, despite its somber start. And the not being able to get into the cave.
