The tension didn't ease away so much as Ric gave it up, all at once.

Ric hissed a quickly indrawn breath through his teeth, tangled one hand in Elijah's hair and splayed the other low across his back. "I wasn't really waiting on permission.... Just trying to figure you out." Ric shuddered a little under Elijah's look. His hands faltered and went unsteady on Elijah's shirt, when Elijah reached for his jeans. He took a deep breath, steadied himself and then went back to working Elijah's buttons open, top to bottom, untucking the shirt when he needed got far enough, and was able to then carry on to Elijah's belt and trousers.
