Ric was... happy. Being able to sleep with Hayley -and really just sleep, god knew the sex wasn't lacking- even with Damon acting as a guard dog, had been good for him. No new bodies turning up, not missing chunks of time, those were pretty good, too. They weren't quite enough for him to let his guard completely down, but he didn't think there was going to be a whole lot of sleeping going on tonight, anyway.

And if there was, well, tonight Hayley would be even more equipped to play guard dog and take care of him. Elijah's reassurance helped keep that one metaphorical and mildly amusing.

He dumped the last load of camping gear onto the ground, and looked up at the sky to check the weather. "I don't think we're going to have to worry about being rained on tonight, but we should probably set up the tent." Who knew what tomorrow would bring,and it would be easier to relax somewhere enclosed. And limit bugs.

Damon gave him a look back, " You think I do?"

"Well, I sure as hell don't," Hayley said, gaze fixating on the bacon.

"One of the three of us has relatively short hair with a style a barber can't manage in ten minutes...."

Damon made a face. "I don't go to the local salon..."

Hayley arched an eyebrow at him. "Do you go to some fancy one in the city, then?"

Ric figured that Hayley was right. Mostly because Damon wasn't sporting a cut that he thought the local place could manage, but that was a very uneducated guess. He just looked inquiringly at Damon for a second, though, and then started pulling the bacon off and onto a plate - which he passed to Hayley, in its entirety, before he cracked a couple of eggs into the pan, to fry in the bacon grease.

Damon gave them both an aggrieved look. "No. I don't go into the city, or the beauty salon..."

He was totally lying.

Hayley rolled her eyes and took the bacon with a smile if thanks for Ric.

"Are you trying to tell us you cut your own hair?"

"I am a vampire of many talents."

Hayley shook her head. "I call bullshit on that one."

"If we couch this in terms of how attractive you are, will you stop looking like we're trying to corner you into admitting that you wear fluffy bunny slippers?"

Damon considered. "That depends. How hot am I?"

Hayley leaned back and considered him with a clinical sort of gaze. "On a scale of one to ten? Probably at least....an eleven."

Really, it was a little ridiculous. People didn't look like that in real life, generally,

Ric looked a little pained, but had to agree and shrugged. "You're really, really pretty."

Damon looked vaguely mollified, though Ric got a look. "I'd prefer 'handsome,' but. Thank you... "

Hayley rolled her eyes and tried to not inhale the bacon.

Inhale the bacon, Hayley, it's what it was there for. Ric dragged the eggs out of the pan, set the pan temporarily aside so he could eat while it was hot. "So, who cuts your hair?" he asked, amused and a little... exasperatedly teasing.

Hayley eyed the eggs, but, really. She was all about the bacon. Giving in, she didn't even really offer to share, just dug in.

Damon gave her an amused look, then sighed. "A guy at a shop in Charlottesville."

What? It wasn't really the city? Just...trendy and top university town.

Ric figured the actual meat would be her more thing, which meant he didn't feel too bad about wolfing down the eggs. His hangover was killing him, but he was also hungry enough to push through, and he had been trying to cut back a little. "Keep him. He does good work."

He'd done all the teasing he was going to do about it. Lines, with Damon. He'd push and tease, but ultimately, he loved the guy and knew there was such a thing as too far.

Damon smiled a bit. "I will." Then he was giving them both a bemused look as Hayley ate the bacon and Ric the eggs. "Don't people normally...eat those together?"

Hayley was licking bacon grease off her fingers almost delicately, and she shot Ric a sheepish look. "...I guess I really should have shared..."

He waved it off -literally, with his fork still in his hand. "There's more. As long as we're both thread it's not a problem. Do you want something, Damon?" Food, not... asking what Damon wanted and trying to get rid of him.

Damon considered. "If you make more bacon, I'll have some, but don't make anything on my part. I have coffee."

"Oh, I fully support making more bacon..." Hayley said with a grin.

"Bacon it is." He finished off his eggs in a couple of bites, and moved to put the pan back on the spider in the fire, and went to grab the package of bacon to load it up, again. "Anyone want orange juice while I'm up? It's still a little frozen, but at least it's cold...?"

"I'm good with coffee," Damon said, but Hayley nodded.

"Juice would be good, actually. Especially really cold." She was ridiculously thirsty, after all the running around.

Ric grabbed the jug and package of red solo cups from the cooler, and passed both of them to her. "Pour a cup for me too, please?" he asked, before he went back to supervising the bacon. "How are you feeling?"

Hayley settled the cups between her legs and got the jug open without spilling any, pouring it just as successfully. She drank hers down, then poured another before answering. "I'm okay. Everything's good as new, I think."

He kept an eye on her, as he took care of the bacon, and once he could he reached for the cup. "We can test that theory out, when we get back home." It was a total, gentle, tease, meant as nothing but reassurance.

She smirked a little at him. "There was some suggestion last evening that never got followed through on..." Bending her over something, specifically.

Damon shook his head. "Well, that's just sad."

Not that he knew for certain what they were talking about, but he could guess.

Ric remembered, grinned at her and started to say something, but then turned to look at Damon with a downright bewildered expression. "What's just sad?"

"That there was no follow-through," Damon said with a smirk.
